Just a quick announcement about the pricing of items in the Shop (brought to you by those lovely people at Kooky Records). Due to rising postage costs, particularly when sending to far flung corners of the world, we have reluctantly had to change our pricing structure. This means no more Worldwide flat shipping rate but rather a new 3-tier (UK, Europe and Rest of the World) system.

One bonus of the recent revamp was the realisation that copies of Tempus Fugit (2004) are still available in limited quantities. First come, first served.

Vini Reilly album pre-release news

Over to Kooky Records for an important announcement about pre-order copies of Vini Reilly:

"Hi and a special thanks to all those who have pre-ordered this release from us. The finished CDs are taking longer than we anticipated to arrive with us and unfortunately, we will not see these until the middle of next month. This is two weeks later than we thought - but we will send them as soon as they arrive. I apologise for the delay but can assure you it's worth the wait!!! General release and sale will be in April. Vini Reilly remastered - Out now on pre-sale

Kooky Records will be re-releasing the seminal Durutti Column album Vini Reilly in Spring 2011.

It will consist of two discs: the original album re-mastered by Keir Stewart and a nine-track bonus disc of unheard studio out-takes from a session TDK tape which has been in the possession of Vini and not played for many years!

The album will, however, be available on a strictly limited pre-sale basis direct from Kooky via thedurutticolumn.com and kookydisc.co.uk for only £13.00 (Paypal only) including postage and packing to anywhere in the world.

Kooky Records mail order holiday 2-27 Sep

Please note that our mail order service by those nice people at Kooky Records will be shutting down from the 2nd to the 27th of September due to holiday commitments.

This means that orders received after 5.00pm BST on Wednesday 1 September 2010 will not be posted until after the 27 September 2010.

During this holiday time, Kooky will not be able to answer any queries or questions as they will be far from any internet access.

A Paean To Wilson Buy It Now with Paypal

A Paean To Wilson live at the Lowry; soundcheck

The new album by The Durutti Column 'A Paean To Wilson' is officially released 24 January 2010 and is available now for 15.00 GBP (including Worldwide P+P) via the Kooky Buy it Now button.

The album is also be on sale via iTunes [UK] and the next opportunity to buy it in person will be at the Leicester Square Theatre in London this Sunday 31 January 2010. Tickets are still available via Ticketline and by calling the Box Office on 0844 847 2475.

Last Sunday's "Movement of the 24th January" gig at the Lowry in Salford was a great success. Stephen Dalton, in The Times, said:

"The late Anthony Wilson, Factory Records founder and notorious Mancunian motormouth, would have turned 60 next month. The virtuoso guitarist Vini Reilly paid understated homage to his old friend, manager and label boss in Salford with a rare live show to launch his latest album, A Paean to Wilson.

A gaunt and sinewy 56-year-old with an unruly orange-tinted mullet hairdo, Reilly could pass for a consumptive cousin of Ronnie Wood. Although portrayed as a fragile and depressive character, he is ironically one of the last original Factory insiders still standing after three decades of untimely deaths and career burn-outs."

Seasonal shutdown for Kooky Mail Order

As the Kooky Boys will be taking a well-earned rest over the festive season, Kooky Records Mail Order will be shutting down from 22:00 GMT on Friday 4 December 2009 until 09:00 on Monday 4 January 2010.

Orders may still be placed during the Kooky close season but will not be despatched until the New Year.

A Paean To Wilson presale ends Friday

The internet presale for the new album by The Durutti Column, A Paean To Wilson, ends this Friday 27 November 2009 at 23:59 GMT. Get in there in quick if you want one for Christmas because otherwise you will have to wait until the full release on 24 January 2010.

Kooky Records HQ in Northampton is physically moving home in December 2008 and this will have an ensuing effect on mail order deliveries.
