Vini Reilly recently suffered a minor stroke but after four days in hospital and then discharging himself he is well on the road to recovery. He's slightly unsteady on his feet and has lost some feeling in his left hand but is in good spirits, has been regularly playing his Juan Montero Spanish guitar and is steadily rebuilding his strength. So much so in fact that he is booked in for a recording session with Keir Stewart on Tuesday to begin recording the new Durutti Column album.

All the very best Vini and here's wishing you a speedy return to full fitness.

Paul Morley: The Tony Wilson Interviews takes place at the Purcell Room in London's South Bank Centre on Wednesday 20 October 2010. Paul will be talking to Vini live on stage and Poppy Morgan will be joining Vini to play live music.
