'The Return of' CD Factory Benelux edition

Factory Benelux is all set to release a 19-track CD edition of The Return of The Durutti Column on 5 May 2014. FBN 114 CD includes all 9 tracks from the first Factory Records pressing (the sandpaper sleeve) plus six tracks which formed side two of the rare second pressing. Also present and correct are the Martin Hannett 'Test Card' tracks from the original flexi. Completing the line-up are Madeleine and Lips That Would Kiss which originally featured on a 12-inch single released by Factory Benelux in October 1980.

The cover art uses the second pressing black sleeve replete with three miniatures of paintings by Raoul Dufy (a personal fave artist of Vini Reilly).

The CD booklet includes photography by Daniel Meadows, and the extensive liner notes feature words by Vini Reilly, Martin Hannett, Tony Wilson, Peter Saville, Daniel Meadows, John Brierley, Bruce Mitchell and members of Joy Division.

Vini Reilly onstage interview and live show

It's been rather quiet round here so we're very pleased to be able to announce that Vini Reilly will be appearing onstage in an interview with Dave Haslam and playing live at the Chorlton Arts Festival on Wednesday 21 May 2014.

This will be Vini's first extended public performance for nearly three years following several minor strokes.

The venue is Wilbraham St Ninian's Church in Chorlton, Manchester and tickets are on sale now priced 9.00 GBP (plus booking fee) via WeGotTickets.
